Rose Cottage is a charming and spacious 18th Century holiday cottage in the heart of the pretty village of Wootton Courtenay in the Exmoor National Park.
Rose Cottage is set in a large enclosed garden, with a second enclosed garden opposite the cottage, across the quiet village road. Both gardens have views over the beautiful countryside around Dunkery Beacon.
Inside, there are inglenook fireplaces with wood-burning stoves in the dining and sitting rooms and the cottage has been modernised to make for a comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable holiday.
There’s lots to do: Walk directly from the cottage to access some of Exmoor’s loveliest hills, woods and river valleys. A short drive will open up more possibilities over fine moorland and along the spectacular coastline. Explore Exmoor by car, mountain bike or on horseback or join a deer safari to see the abundant wildlife. Visit medieval Dunster, coastal Porlock, the pretty villages of Selworthy and Bossington, or the shops and amusements of Minehead, all a 10 –15 minute drive away. Tarr Steps, Lorna Doone Valley, Lynmouth and Lynton (with the Watersmeet falls and The Valley of the Rocks) are only a little further afield. Enjoy good pub food and cream teas across Exmoor.
Or just relax and enjoy the cottage, its gardens and cosy fireplaces, and the peace and quiet of Wootton Courtenay.
